We recently had two reunion meetings at Dallas and Philadelphia, in connection with NATA and AAPI conventions. Thanks to Dr. Mohan Malian and Dr. Sri Nagesh Palvoi for organizing them. It’s a great idea for alumni to take the opportunity to organize an alumni meeting at any related conferences either medical, Telugu or Indian associations.

The SVMC alumni association is now on a stronger footing as we have the alumni building created with the vision and magnificent donation of Dr. Prem Sagar Reddy garu and contributions by many others like you. This is now a home to many vibrant activities like the monthly international CME conferences attended without fee by thousands of physicians, organized by Dr. Rayapu Ramesh Babu, president of the SVMC alumni association, Tirupati. These are organized in association with the Indian Medical Association. This “Diamond Jubilee SVMC Knowledge Center” (the Alumni Building), is becoming a focal point for all alumni related activities to improve medical education, healthcare, and philanthropy in giving back to the Alma mater.

Dr. Mohan Mallam, with his hard work, has steered the association and formalized the 501C charitable institution status. It is possible to have many projects like increasing CPR awareness, digital library, etc. Greater collaboration and pooling of resources from SVMC alumni from all over the world needs to be encouraged.

Our immediate goal is to improve the alumni membership, create greater networking and connections among alumni.

Let us foster an atmosphere of giving back to alma mater by initiating donations to fund current and future projects of interest to you all. Many alumni would like to establish their legacy by contributions to the alma mater and we should facilitate the forum to channel this avenue.

It is my privilege to humbly request each one of you to contribute ideas and resources to drive the membership and increase donations. This will create a concrete framework for continued growth of alumni activities for generations to come. I invite you to take leadership positions in the areas of your expertise and those dear to your hearts.
